Through the looking glass

Dear Diary,
Have you ever looked through a window that makes things look ten times bigger than they are? Well, I came across such a mirror the other day.
I drove to the second-hand store to find new dinner plates to replace my broken ones. You would think that wet plates wouldn't be as slippery as they are with dish soap. Turns out that after attempting to handle a sixth plate fresh from a bath in the sink, I didn't have any other plates to eat off of.
I held back from buying new plates, thinking I could go on without them, but after having a blend of paper towel and scrambled eggs for breakfast three days in a row...I quickly developed a new sense of appreciation for the purpose these ceramic flat surfaces provide.
This store had an entire aisle of plates others decided to leave behind. Not all of these plates were entire sets, groups of 2-3 at most, and some were individual plates that didn't go with anything else. It was interesting to see the types of plates people ate from... I hope they washed these thoroughly before they placed them on the shelves.
The one thing about second-hand stores is that even though they organize their items, visitors tend to reorganize them in other parts of the store simply for that fact that they changed their minds about buying them in the first place. It's not just plates that were being reorganized, that's why when I was browsing through the shelves, I would come across other knick-knacks that had no reason to be in this aisle.
Umbrellas, paperweights, and decorative figurines, I even came across a pair of children's shoes. Aside from the items that clearly don't belong, the plates they were selling weren't catching my interest. That's when I saw it. It rested between two plate sets close enough to touch each other's ceramics edges if it weren't for it blocking the path.
It was two framed windows put together. When I got closer though, my reflection could be seen on the surface like a mirror before the focus transitioned to the objects behind it. So....would that make it a window-mirror, or a mirror-window? oH! No, it definitely would be a mirrow! mhm.
This 'mirrow' made things look huge! Like we were looking into a world of giants. Can you imagine the size of the food a giant would eat? It would look like Mount Everest on a plate!
